Architecture as environmental infrastructure.png

Waterworks Pavilion

Waterworks Pavilion investigates architecture as a visible environmental system. Through layered structural elements and exposed networks of pipes and channels, the building manages water, climate, and habitation simultaneously. The project frames infrastructure not as hidden technical equipment but as an integral part of architectural space, where landscape, water, and structure operate as a unified environmental framework.

Courtyard Continuum

Courtyard Continuum explores housing as environmental infrastructure rather than isolated buildings. The project integrates a network of courtyards that collect, store, and redistribute water while moderating microclimates and supporting community interaction. Designed for Denver’s semi-arid climate, the proposal combines passive environmental systems with modular housing strategies to demonstrate how residential architecture can actively participate in urban ecological resilience.

Ignite

A sculptural light that reinterprets fire through material and form. Brass stems rise from an iron base to hold glass spheres that appear weightless in suspension. The piece transforms illumination into a quiet presence, emphasizing durability, reflection, and the enduring relationship between energy and stillness.

The Vessel Type

A climate-adaptive prototype for communal water infrastructure. The design integrates floodwater collection, filtration, and public gathering spaces, creating architecture that performs as both system and sanctuary. It redefines resilience through shared resources, combining local construction techniques with environmental research.
